CHOPMIST HILL AVIARY
When I was a child, I watched and learned as my father bred beautiful birds. I was full of questions and really appreciated the care and responsibility my dad put into his flock.
When dad passed away in 2003, I took on his birds. It made me feel close to him, but soon, I became fascinated with the hobby and Chopmist Hill Aviary was born.

Through selective breeding I take huge pride offering strong healthy birds and mutations for sale. People who buy my birds often come back when looking for another bird.

I love the unusual and I work with many mutations for that "something different." Working with mutations takes time and lots of patience to produce healthy birds. I do not sell unweaned babies; as a rule.

Many of my babies are handfed by me. You can often find me at a horse show with babies to feed...

I mix my own feed mix of select seeds, and pellets. I use Herb Salad daily and have periodic aviary inspections by a licensed avian veterinarian. I offer DNA results when birds are sold as sexed and not visually apparent.
Breeders and breeder prospects are also sometimes available.

I believe in cage breeding for that is the best way for me to keep accurate records of parentage. On this page you will find photos of my aviary. You can see where your birds come from and how they are raised.

I strive to have healthy, quality birds and to provide such to you. To accomplish this, I have a closed private aviary. I strongly feel that closing the aviary to visitors avoids disease and prevents my breeders from being disturbed which can cause them to stop sitting on their eggs, stop feeding or even kill their babies.

I keep my aviary clean and closed to visitors to avoid upsetting the birds and eliminate germs and disease at all costs.
I do attend area bird marts.
Birds may be picked up by appointment.

I stand behind my birds and I NEVER sell any bird I feel is not in prime condition.
Often you will see me, my birds and my bird toys at bird shows and marts in the Northeast. Many folks look for me because they know I have nice birds and captivating bird toys that are different and well made.
